Long-Term Care Insurance Costs

U.S. Agency on Aging

DWC-005 Deadline is April 30, 2022

Texas remains one of the few states in the United States where employers may elect not to purchase Worker’s Compensation insurance. Any employer who chooses not to carry Worker’s Compensation insurance is considered a “non-subscriber” and must opt-out of the system, regardless if an alternative policy is put in place. As a “non-subscriber”, the Texas Department of Insurance requires an annual DWC-005 filing between 2/1 and 4/30. For your convenience we have included a link to this important information here.

If you do not carry traditional Worker’s Compensation insurance (i.e. you have no coverage or you have an Occupational Accident policy) AND have not filed your DWC-005, you need to do so before 4/30/2022. You will file with an effective date of 5/1/2022 and expiration date of 4/30/2023.

You can file your DWC-005 form online here (En español aquí).
